We want to be brutally honest. It’s a big mistake to think just learning the system makes an instructor. Who would you rather have as your boxing coach: Mike Tyson or Cus D’Amato? Just because someone can do it well doesn’t mean they’re always the best instructor. To that end CORNERSTONE JKD seeks to equip both mind and body. The best instructors are literally on fire about the system, its ideas and its application. And they absolutely love sharing their knowledge!

Our goal is to help you both understand and perform JKD to the best of your ability. You won’t get Bruce Lee like results without having the same legitimate source material that Lee used (Wing Chun and old-school, fencing based boxing) and logical training. Our part is to give you the knowledge, techniques, drills and seriously amp up the motivation. Your part is to think and work hard.

If you want to teach, that’s great! That’s how we can bring this amazing self-defense method to more and more people. A teacher loves sharing and inspiring others. They love the ideas that help people improve themselves, their lives, and, of course, to defend them too. A teacher isn’t just a fighter, but a guide who loves people and the truths to make them truly shine.

How to Train With Us

Here’s how you can do it: attend Greenville Academy classes in person in Greenville, South Carolina. That’s obviously the easiest way. If you can’t do that you can attend seminars here or bring Sifu Jason or Jonathan in to your school.

Or you can join our online Jeet Kune Do Academy on Teachable (Greenville-academy.teachable.com) and take ongoing classes there. Sifu Jason also has many books on Amazon that can help too. We heartily recommend JKD Foundations and JKD Infighting along with the classic staples of Bruce Lee’s Commentaries on the Martial Way and The Fighting Method series.

All of our instructor testing is done in person or via FaceTime or Zoom. In all, if you know it, can do it, and love helping others learn it too, then we’d be ecstatic to have you on our team.
